50 hurt in clash over school boundary in Munshiganj

At least 50 people were injured in a clash over school boundary demarcation between two groups of villagers at Karimkha of Gazaria in Munshiganj on Saturday.

The severely injured Riazuddin, Zayeda, Hamidullah, Monira Begum, Mafia Begum, Miraz, Jahid Ahmed Alo, Delwar, Parvez and Abdur Jabbar were admitted to local hospitals and clinics.

The police, who brought the situation under control, were patrolling the village to stave off further troubles. The groups of villagers filed cases against each other.

The trouble began when a donor of the Karimkha Osdar Academy High School, Zahid Ahmed Alo, along with schoolteachers and managing committee members, was fencing the school boundary.

A villager, Riazuddin, then claimed he had been the owner of the land and it led to an altercation, resulting in the clash.
