Ferry services on Maowa-Kawrakandi route disrupted for 8 hrs

Ferry services on Maowa-Kawrakandi route here was disrupted for about eight hours Tuesday due to dense fog, causing sufferings to the passengers.

A BIWTA official said four ferries carrying over 100 passengers remained stranded in the Padma River from midnight due to dense fog.

Ferry services resumed on the route at 9am as soon as the fog started disappearing.

Severe traffic congestion was created on both sides of the ferry ghats as many vehicles got stranded because of disruption of ferry service.
