Chittagong District emerged as the champion in the first ever Diamond Melamine National Rugby Championship at Outer Stadium, adjacent to the Bangabandhu National stadium, on Saturday.
In a one sided final game, Chittagong did not allow their competitors Faridpur a bit chance to get back in the match as they crushed them by 43-3 points. The winners led the first half by 19-0.
In the third and fourth place decider match, Dhaka District cruised a 3-0 point victory over Munshiganj district to capture third place.
Prof Sagufta Yasmin Emili, Whip of National Parliament, distributed the prizes among the winners as chief guest.
Rugby Federation’s general secretary Mousom Ali and other members of the federation were present among others.
