National mourning day observed in Munshiganj

The national mourning day and 35th Anniversary of the killing of father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in Munshiganj with due respect and zeal. Bangladesh Awami League and its front organisations, district administration ,different socio-cultural organisations, educational institutes hold different programmes to mark the day. The day’s first programme was the biggest colourful procession ever seen that started from the DC court area in the morning at 10 am.The procession was organised by district administration, Munshiganj. The procession paraded the main roads of the town and ended at Shilpakala academy. A discussion meeting was held there. After the discussion a cultural function was held. Munshiganj district AL president and ex MP Md. Mohiuddin was present in the procession and the discussion. The district administration took a massive programme to mark the mourning month and the vary day, 15 August. The programmes included Qurankhani,Miladmahfil and doa, child painting and poem recitation, essay competition, projecting of documentary films on life and works of the father of the nation. At evening the destitute will be fed with ifter and a rich meal.
