The police arrested a woman and seized a fake currency from her possession at a market at Shipahipara in Munshiganj Sadar upazila Sunday afternoon.

The arrested was identified as Sultana, 34, of Besnal village under Tongibari upazila.

The local people said Sultana had bought some daily essentials from a shop and given the shopkeeper a note of Tk 1000 denomination. Finding the note fake, the shopkeeper called the police. Later, the police arrested her and a case was filed in this connection.
