Ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi route have resumed 15 hours after disruption due to bad weather. The ferry services remained suspended since Saturday 7:30pm due to inclement weather, while, three ferries were on irregular move, a senior official of Bangladesh Inland Water Transportation Authority (BIWTA) Mawa office told bdnews24.com.
The movement of ferries returned to normal around 11:30am on Sunday, the official said.
Around 500 vehicles got stranded at the ghats (terminals) on both sides of the Padma River due to the ferry service disruption, the official added.
