The distribution areas of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) in Brahmanbaria and Ashuganj have been handed over to Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited (BGDCL).
A vendor agreement was signed to this effect between the two companies at Petrobangla office in the city’s Karwanbazar area on Saturday.
TGTDCL secretary Abul Bashar and BGDCL secretary Mahfuzul Haque Khan signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides.
Speaking on the occasion, Petrobangla chairman Hossain Monsur said the areas of the two companies, which were both under Petrobangla, had been rearranged in a bid to ensure quality services.
As per the rearrangement, BGDCL will supply gas from July 1 in Comilla, Chandpur, Brahmanbaria, Feni, Laxmipur and Noakhali districts, while TGTDCL in Dhaka City, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Gazipur, Tangail, Mymensingh, Netrakona, Sherpur, Jamalpur and Kishoreganj districts.
State minister for power, energy and mineral resources Mohammad Enamul Haque, energy secretary Mezbah Uddin, TGTDCL managing director Aziz Khan and BGDCL managing director Abdus Salam were present at the agreement-signing ceremony.
