Hundreds of people blocked the Dhaka-Mawa highway in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj for an hour following a road accident that killed a woman Sunday morning. Agitated locals also set fire to the bus of Ilish Paribahan that crushed Mohitunnessa, 70, under its wheels at Chaltipara in the upazila around 10:00am, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

The agitation created huge tailbacks on both sides of the highway.

The situation eased around 11:20am when Saiful Islam, Munshiganj assistant superintendent of police, rushed to the spot and assured the locals of bringing the culprit to justice.
