2 firearms looted
Terrorists snatched away a handcuffed accused from police custody leaving four policemen injured at Tulshikhali bazaar in Sirajdikhan upazila Sunday morning.
Sirajdikhan thana officer-in-charge Mehedi Hasan said when a police team was taking Afiluddin, 42, a fugitive accused, to the thana his accomplices suddenly attacked the law enforcers and snatched away the accused at about 6:45 am.
They also looted two firearms, leaving four cops critically injured.
Local people rescued the injured policemen and admitted them to a nearby clinic in Keraniganj.

Accused snatched in Munshiganj, 4 cops injured
Four policemen were injured as miscreants swooped on them and snatched a handcuffed accused in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj Sunday morning.
The criminals looted a gun and a shotgun from the police personnel, which were later recovered by the law enforcers from a jungle adjacent to the spot, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.
The injured policemen were taken to a private clinic in Keraniganj. Condition of two of them are said to be critical.
Mahedi Hasan, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sirajdikhan Police Station, said the accused, Afiluddin, 42, was arrested from a place near Tulshikhali Bazaar in Chitracourt area in the morning.
On the way to the police station, the gang attacked police and snatched Afiluddin, leaving four of them injured, the OC said.
Afiluddin went into hiding after an arrest warrant was issued against him on charges of abduction and attempt-to-murder around 10 days back.
In the afternoon, two suspects – Mostafa, 25, and Hassan, 20 – were detained for the attack.
Md Shafiqul Islam, Munshiganj superintendent of police, confirmed the incident.
