A youth was killed as a passenger bus ran over him on Dhaka-Mawa highway in Keyotkhali area under Sreenagar upazila of the district on Monday evening. The deceased was identified as Tushar, 18, of the area.

Agitated mob blockaded the highway for two hours and vandalized vehicles following the accident which created 10-kilometer long tailbacks on the road.

Local sources said he fell from an over crowded passenger bus of DM Paribahan around 6:00pm in the area.

Meanwhile, another bus ran over him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Sreenagar Thana Mizanur Rahman told banglanews that on information, police rushed in and took the situation under control.
