AL leader gunned down in Louhajang

A local Awami League leader was gunned down by unidentified miscreants at Kazir Pagla village in Louhajang upazila on Thursday night. The deceased, Mobarak Hossain Khan, 55, was former general secretary of ward Awami League.

Assistant Police Super Mohammd Saiful Islam said unidentified miscreants shot on his head when he was knocking the door for entering into his house at about 8:30 am, leaving him seriously injured.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead at about 10 pm.

Police recovered a cartridge and a bullet from near his house.

Officer-in-charge of Louhajang thana Masud Khan said the miscreants might have killed him over previous enmity.
