Hall super quits
Chhatra League activists vandalized Government Harganga College on Sunday demanding uninterrupted water supply in one of their dormitory.
Meanwhile, M Faruque Mia, super of Ziaur Rahman Hall, resigned from his post over the incident.
College sources said agitated students, led by college unit BCL president Nibir Ahmed and Sadar upazila BCL president Suruj Mia, brought out a procession on the campus at about 1:45pm and damaged the window pens of the college.
At that time, tension prevailed as the panicked students ran helter-skelter on the campus.
Acting principal of the college M Sayedul Kabir told the Daily Observer that water supply of Ziaur Rahman Hall has been suspended for last three days as the water pump went out of order.
But, the water-hungry students did not inform the college authority about the matter, rather they brought out a procession and damaged window pens of the institute.
The acting principal also confirmed that the hall super submitted his resignation letter to him following the incident.
