At last Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) received permission letter from District Commissioner of Munshiganj for the party chairperson’s rally at the desired spot. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will address the rally on Wednesday protesting abductions, forced disappearances and killings across the country including Narayanganj seven-murder.
“We took all the preparation to hold the rally in Launch Ghat area of Munshiganj on May 28,” Rizvi Ahmed, joint secretary general of BNP, told reporters at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan office in the capital. The party has already received permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police for holding the rally in Munshiganj, party sources said.
Earlier, Khaleda was scheduled to address a rally in Narayanganj, Jatrabari, Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh and Supreme Court premises but the law enforcing agencies foiled the rallies.
