Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor formally inaugurated the Bikrampur Museum here today, saying that the museum is not only for Bikrampur, but will be among the best in the entire country.
The museum is located at the residence of Jadhunath Raja, locally called as Balashur Raja Jadhunath at Srinagar upazila. Many valuable artifacts of the locality are on display at the two-storied mansion-turned-museum.
“Ogroshar Bikrampur Foundation” president Nuh-ul-Alam Lenin chaired the function, while local lawmaker Shukumar Ranjan Ghosh, Janata Bank chairman Economist Dr Abul Barakat, Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam and central Awami League health affairs’ secretary Dr Badiuzzamn Dablu, addressed it, among others.
The minister said the government has taken initiative to preserve valuable artifacts, which are spread across the locality and assured the people of further initiative to preserve other ancient relics in the museum in phases.
