Pinak-6 drowns in Padma
The drowning of Pinak-6 in Padma River has been captured on his mobile phone by a passenger of a ferry which was travelling nearby.
The overloaded launch was on its way to Mawa from Kewrakandi at 11am Monday when it began to sink in face of strong currents at Louhajang turning point.
The footage shot by the ferry passenger soon fell into the hands of media persons, including bdnews24.com.
The launch, packed with people, tilted to its side before being engulfed by the river, Mimjal Islam, a passenger who managed to survive, told bdnews24.com.
Excess passengers and strong currents led to the drowning, said another passenger who survived.
