Launch captain and four others have also been made accused in the case The owner of the launch Pinak 6, that capsized with over 200 passengers in Padma River near Mawa Ghat in Munshiganj on Monday, has been sued.
BIWTA Transport Inspector Jahangir Bhuiyan filled the case with Louhajang police station on Tuesday.
Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Saidul Hasan Badal told the media at a press briefing.
Launch captain and four others have also been made accused in the case, he said.
“A case was lodged against sunken launch owner AB Siddik alias Kalu and 4 others under the 280, 282 and 304 (B) acts,” said the DC.
Rescue operation is going on after the launch capsized, he added.
More than 100 people are still missing till filing of this report at 9pm.
