Police recovered the decomposed body of a victim of the ‘Pinak-6’ launch capsize from the river Sugandhya at South Mogor village in Nalchhiti upazila on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mintu Mollah, son of Abdus Salam of Krishnadia village in Moksedpur upazila of Gopalganj district.
Local people found the body floating in the river on Friday, 18 days after the mishap, and informed police.
Later, police found a mobile phone in the pocket of the shirt wore by the body. The identity of the body was confirmed through calling Mintu’s family by the mobile SIM.
Later, police handed over the body of Mintu to his uncle Babul Mollah.
With this, 49 bodies have so far been recovered from different rivers after the launch capsized on August 4.
