A 30-member team including the chief engineer of China Major Bridge Company has arrived and has started working in Mawa, says Obaidul
Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has said the foundation work of Padma Multipurpose Bridge is underway according to World Bank’s scheduled plan.
The minister made the statement at a press briefing in the Dak Bungalow of Mawa Setu Bhaban in Munshiganj on Friday.
“We are sticking to the original construction plans of the World Bank. The Bridge will be constructed in our own funding according to the plans of World Bank,” he said.
Obaidul informed that a 30-member team including the chief engineer of China Major Bridge Company has arrived and it has started working in Mawa.
“The contractor company in China has been working on the construction of the main foundation. Some of the foundation will be constructed there and later will be brought to Bangladesh for directly connecting to the bridge,” he added.
