A mobile court has been sucessful to resist a child marriage in Telirbeel village under Munshiganj Sadar upazila on Sunday evening.

The court also fined six people including the parents of the bride and groom with Tk1000 each.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sarabana Tahura said a girl of class five of Adhariyatala Primary School is going to be married off to a 25 year old employee of a tailor shop in the locality.

Being informed from the local journalists, the mobile courts rushed to the scene and stopped the marriage.

The court fined Parvez, the groom, his father Abu Sayeed, the parents and uncle of the bride with Tk1000 each.

The girl’s parents signed a bond that they will not marry off their girl before she is 18.
