Blockade protesting new bus on Dhaka-Mawa highway

Dhaka-Mawa Bus Owners’ Association blocked Mawa square in Munshiganj for two hours protesting the plying of a new bus on the highway.

They blocked Mawa square by keeping 15 to 16 bus on the road in a scattered manner from 8am till 10am on Sunday morning, creating a traffic congestion in the area.

Mawa BRTC Poribohon Super Vaijar Kohinur Mia said: “A total of 12 buses of Aram Poribohon started plying on the highway from 8am in the morning.”

“The blockade created a three kilometer tailback from Mawa square till Shreenagar. Later police brought the situation under control after talking to both the sides, he said.
