Four persons were killed and 29 others injured in two separate road accidents in Gazaria upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway on Sunday.

Two persons were killed and four others injured when a bus and a microbus collided head-on at Tatoitola in Baluakandi under Gazaria upazila of the district on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

Driver of the microbus and a female passenger died on the spot. Their identities could not be known immediately. The injured persons were admitted to different hospitals and clinic in Dhaka.

Earlier, two persons were killed and 25 others injured when a passenger bus fell into a road side ditch at Farazikandi under the same upazila at about 3:00am last night.

The bus of Shawan Paribahan was going to Chittagong from Dhaka, police said.

Masud Rana, 18, died on the spot and Khadem Ali, 23, succumbed to his injuries in Bhaberchar upazila health complex.

Police seized the bus but the driver managed to escape.

The bodies have been kept in the Bhaberchar police outpost and relatives were informed.
