An activist of Awami League has been chopped to death by unidentified miscreants at Pachghariakandi in Munshiganj.
Sadar police station OC Abul Khayer Fakir confirmed the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased is Hosen Mridha, 40, the son of late Abdus Sattar Mridha, of Torki village in Charkeowar union.
Nine to 10 miscreants swooped on Hosen when he was returning home by rickshaw from the court area.
He was rushed to Munshiganj General Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
The nephew of the deceased, Awami League activist Abu Taher Mridha, said: “This murder took place over supremacy in the Mridha clans in Torki area.
“The top terrorist, Rahmat Ullah, led the attack on the deceased,” he alleged.
