Abducted man rescued from Dhaka

A man who was abducted on Monday from Munshiganj was rescued from Dhaka on Wednesday night. Aulad Sheikh, 40, son of late Aslam Sheikh of Singairtek village under Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj returned to his village from Korea five months ago.

His family members said Aulad shared enmity with the gang of a local man named Swapan over ownership of a piece of land.

On Monday around 7:30pm, Aulad started for home from the Upazila Chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed’s office located in Sirajdikhan Bazar area, however, he did not return home.

In this connection, Aulad’s nephew Md Billal Hossain filed a general diary with Sirajdikhan police station the same night.

On Tuesday morning, locals blocked the Dhaka-Sirajdikhan road for two hours protesting the abduction of Aulad.

Sirajdikhan police station Officer-in-Charge Yaardous Hasan said: “Aulad Sheikh was rescued from near a tea stall in Borohati area in Demra, Dhaka around 11pm on Wednesday.
