A Bahrain expatriate died on Thursday night, just one day before his marriage, at Baroipara village under Tongibari upazila of the district.

He was identified as Mafizul Sheikh, 35, son of Mokbul Sheikh of the village and a Bahrain expatriate. Recently, he returned home to get married.

Locals said, the marriage of Mafizul and Sathi Akter, daughter of Sobuz Sheikh of Shimulia village in Tongibari upazila was arranged by their families. The marriage ceremony was scheduled on Friday. On Thursday night, Mafizul went to sleep, but the next morning he did not wake up. On suspicion, family members broke open the door and found him dead.

He might have died of heart attack, family sources said.

He was buried at a local graveyard.
