Ferry service on Shimulia-Kanthalbari route is facing setback

Due to navigability problems in the Padma River, ferry service on Shimulia-Kanthalbari route is facing setback. As a result, Dhaka-bound people from 21 southern districts are suffering due to long tailback of vehicles at Shimulia ghat. According to sources at the BIWTA, the navigability problem started from August 31 night, stopping services of 16 ferries on the route. The photo shows dredging work is going on at Louhajang Turning Point in Munshiganj to ensure navigability.
