Mozammel Hossain Sajal: A Munshiganj court on Monday afternoon sent the district unit Jubo League President Aktaruzzaman Razib in jail in an extortion case.

Additional Superintendent of Police of the district Md Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Earlier, police arrested Razib from Natungaon area on the outskirt of the district town around 12:30pm on charge of extortion, and appeared him to the court.

According to prosecution, a group of terrorists led by Mostafizur demanded Taka 3 lakh from one Roksana, a resident of Ramshing village in Sadar upazila on December 5 last year. The group, later, vandalized the woman’s house as she refused to give them extortion.

Roksana lodged a case against seven people, including Razib, with Sadar Police Station on December 7 of the same year.
