Missing engineer’s body recovered in Munshiganj

The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Jishan, 35, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, of Boalia upazila in Rajshahi
Police recovered the body of an engineer from the Dhaleshwari River in Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila yesterday, four days after he had gone missing.

The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Jishan, 35, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, of Boalia thana in Rajshahi. He was an engineer at Bangla Cat Company.

Sirajdikhan police station OC Md Farid Uddin said: “After being informed by locals we recovered Jishan’s body around 1pm on Friday. However, his associate Likhon Sarkar who went missing along with him still remains missing.”

Claiming murder, Jishan’s brother Md Shoyaeb Ahmed said: “We found Jishan with severe injury marks all over his body. He was murdered and we demand punishment for the people responsible.”

Jishan’s wife Rakia Sultana had filed a general diary with Ashulia police station after Jishan along with his associate Likhon Sarkar went missing in the Buriganga River while they were heading back from Fatullah, Narayanganj early hours of Monday.
