Staff of two Munshiganj clinics sent on home-quarantine

The local administration on Sunday sent all the staff members of two private clinics in the district town on home-quarantine after the owner of one of them tested positive for coronavirus.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Faruk Ahmed said activities at Doctors’ Diagnostic and Consultation Centre at Sadar Hospital Road remained on even though its owner tested positive earlier.

Upazila Health Officer (UHO) Dr Sumon Banik said staffers concealed the information about the coronavirus detection of their owner.

In a joint drive on Sunday morning, all the staffers of the clinic were sent on home-quarantine, said Md Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Meanwhile, all the staff of Time Digital and Diagnostic Centre which is also in the same building were also sent on quarantine, he said.

Civil Surgeon Dr Abul Kalam Azad confirmed 11 coronavirus cases in the district as of Sunday.

Bangladesh has so far confirmed 621 coronavirus cases and 34 deaths from the highly infectious virus as of Sunday.
