Local people on Saturday morning formed a human chain in protest against the triple murder over stalking woman in Munshiganj town 10 days ago.

The protesters demanded arrests of all the accused in the murder incident and speedy trial.

Several hundred people formed the human chain in North Islampur area of the town around 11:00am.

Three people were stabbed dead in the night of March 24 during an argument over stalking a girl at Uttar Islampur, police said.

The victims — Emon Pathan, 23, Mahbub Hosen Sakib, 19, and Awlad Hosen Mintu, 47 — were residents of the area.

So far, seven people were arrested in this connection.

Munshiganj municipality mayor Mohammad Foysal Biplab demanded exemplary punishment for the murderers so that none dare repeating such crime.

Local politicians, municipality ward councillors, journalists attended the human chain in demand of quick trial.
