People of Narayanganj and Munshiganj don’t have gas at home due to sudden suspension of supply for repair work.

There were leakages on some of the valves at Siddhirganj-Godnail RMS and Godnail TBS, according to a press release of power, energy and mineral resources ministry.

The authorities had to suspend gas supply for replacing the damaged valves, the press release said.

While talking to The Daily Star this morning, Director (operation) of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, Shafiqul Islam Khan, confirmed that gas supply was disrupted since 11:00pm yesterday due to the valve leakage.

He said Titas is trying their best to resume gas supply in the two districts.

Our Narayanganj correspondent reports, people were seen rushing to restaurants for breakfast due to the suspension of gas supply.

Some city dwellers are using gas cylinders or clay stoves for cooking lunch.
