a2i project official found dead in Munshiganj

An official of the government’s Access to Information (a2i) project was found dead today with several stab wounds on a roadside at the Tailkai village in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj.

“The victim Abdul Barek Sheikh (44) of Rangmeher village of the upazila was an entrepreneur assistant of an a2i project in Hasail Banari union,” said Mollah Soheb Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongibari Police Station,” reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

“Being informed by locals, police recovered the body around 11:30 am and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy,” said the OC.

“There were several stab wounds found on the body and police are trying to find out those involved in the murder,” said the police official.

“Abdul Barek had been working at the a2i project since 2015,” said his colleague Shafiqul Islam Swapan.
