The four villages in the upazila received illegal gas connections from the transmission line of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway
The state-owned Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited has disconnected as many as 5,000 unauthorized gas connections in four villages of Munshiganj’s Gajaria upazila.
The day-long operation was conducted on Sunday, Gajaria Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate GM Rashedul Islam confirmed.
Suruj Alam, an engineer and the deputy general manager of the Narayanganj-Sonargaon regional marketing department, claimed that four villages in the Bhaberchar and Tengarchar Unions received illegal gas connections from the transmission line of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Upon receiving the information, the illegal gas connections in four Tengarchar and Bhaberchar Union villages were disconnected during the operation.
