A Munshiganj court has granted bail to 42 leaders and activists, including BNP’s Organising Secretary advocate Abdus Salam Azad, in a sabotage case.
Munshiganj District and Sessions Court Judge Motaharat Akter Bhuiyan granted their bail when the BNP leaders surrendered before the court around 1:00pm today.

The lawyer for the defendants, advocate Md Halim Hossain, confirmed the matter to our Munshiganj correspondent.
He said, on November 30, 2022, a case was filed against 50 leaders and activists, including the BNP’s organising secretary, on charges of sabotage including crude bomb explosions in the district’s Lauhjung upazila.
In the case filed, the High Court on December 4, 2022, granted bail to the leaders and activists for six weeks.
As per HC’s instructions, 42 leaders and activists surrendered before the district court today, which granted their bail, confirmed Court Police Inspector Jamal Hossain.
