3 arrested in Munshiganj on charges of vandalising police station

Three people have been arrested in connection with vandalising and setting fire to a police station in Munshiganj following the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August.

The police also recovered two government phones, one gold ring, one gas cell, one trolley bag and two round cartridges from them, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Munshiganj Sadar police station Khalilur Rahman.

He said, they were arrested from Sadar Upazila and Tongibari at around 4am today (30 September) and will be presented in court soon. All those involved in this incident will be brought under the law, he added.

The arrested are Hasan Talukdar alias Muntasin alias Jeeban, 18, from Joslong Union of Tongibari Upazila, Siam Molla, 18, from Dargah Bari village under Sadar police station and Md Ikram Hasan Munna, 19, from the same village.

The police filed four cases in the Sadar police station and another case was filed in Tongibari police station on the same charges of vandalism, arson and looting in Munshiganj Sadar police station , office of the District Superintendent of Police, Sadar Police Outpost and Hatimara Police Investigation Center.

Although no one was named in these five cases, numerous unidentified were accused in the cases.
