10 injured in Munshiganj clash

At least 10 people were injured, six critically, in a fierce clash between two rival groups at Netropati village in Tongibari upazila on Tuesday noon.

The critically injured Ali Akbar, 25, Jahanara Begum, 50, Rajib Sheikh, 35, Abdul Qader, 40, Achhia Begum, 35, and Abdur Rahim, 35, were admitted to the district general hospital.

Locals said there was a longstanding dispute between Jahanara Begum, Abdul Qader and Sohrab Sarder of the village over the ownership of a plot of land. Jahanara some days back filed a case with the Tongibari police station against Sohrab.

As a sequel to the filing of the case Sohrab along with his supporter went to Jahanara’s house and locked into an altercation with her. Later, a clash ensued between them that left 10 people from both sides injured.
