30 people injured over dispute of local Awami League in Munshiganj

30 people, including women, were injured when two rivals of local Awami League locked in clashes over supremacy in the area at Haalbiganj in Munshiganj at noon.

Among the injured, Sufia, 50, Rob Miah, 36, Shiri Banu, 45, Banja Khatun, 50, Pervin Akhter, 35, Beauty Akhter,45, Rabeya Akhter, 30, Bilkis, 35, Sohel, 26, were admitted to various hospitals, including Munshiganj General Hospital.

Police and local people said the clash erupted over an altercation between the two groups. Local Awami League leaders Delwar and Akhter along with 20 to 25 associates allegedly attacked another leader of Ramij group.

During attacks and counter-attacks, the 30 people were injured.

Sultana Begum of Ramij group filed a case against eight people with Sadar police station.
