Police Thursday morning recovered body of a child, allegedly murdered for a gold chain by miscreants, at Fultola village in Charkewar union of Sadar upazila.
Police said Abu Taiyeb, 10, went missing since Tuesday morning at about 11am. His mother Jharna begum filed a case with the police on Wednesday in this connection.
Police arrested Robiul Pradhan, 22, of the same village suspecting his involvement in the incident on Wednesday night.
Later, on the basis of his confessional statement, police arrested Abul Hossain, 30, Ana Khan, 30, Moyna Pradhan, 27 of village Fultola and Hannan Bepari, 30, of village South Carmashura in the same upazila. They confessed that they murdered the boy for a gold chain in his neck.
Police as per their statement recovered the body from a pile of cow-dung of Rabiul’s house on Thursday morning and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Another report from Sylhet ads: Police recovered the body of a child Alamgir, 2, from Alitola drain in South Baluchar area of the city on Wednesday noon.
They sent the body that bore injury marks to hospital morgue for autopsy. Later, the body was handed over to his mother Bilkis Begum, resident of Gaffar Mia Colony of the city.
Police suspected that Alamgir was killed by his step-father Chan Mia on Tuesday night.
