Munshiganj robbers kill 1

Robbers gunned down a young man while he was resisting them from committing a robbery at his house in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj early Sunday.

Four family members of victim Tanzil Ahmed Tutul, 25, of Goalkhali village in the upazila also sustained bullet injuries during the incident, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

Sirajdikhan police sub-inspector Mushfiqur Rahman said, a gang of 15 to 20 masked robbers, stormed into the house of one Helal Member breaking open the lock of main gate at about 1:00am.

When Tutul, son of Helal, challenged the bandits, they opened fire on him, leaving him critically injured, the SI added.

The doctors declared him dead when he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The robbers looted 15 tolas of gold ornaments and Tk 50,000 in cash.
