11 firms apply for pre-qualification on river training

Some 11 international firms have applied for pre-qualification (PQ) seeking the job of river training for the multi-billion-dollar Padma Bridge Project.

They are: Penta-Ocean Construction Company Ltd. of Japan, PAG Joint Venture of Denmark, China Communication Construction Company Ltd. of China, Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd of Korea, China Gezhouba group Company Limited of China, Padma RTC JV Van Oord Dredging International Bskakalis International bv. Of Netherlands, Jan De Nul N.V of Belgium, Sinohydro Corporation Limited of China, Changjiang survey, Planning, Design and research Co Ltd of China, Bangladesh Check Technology Ltd and China International Water and Electric Corporation of China and STX-Samwhan Joint Venture of Korea.

The tender evaluation committee accepted the PQ applications until 4:0pm on Thursday in presence of the representatives of the companies, said a press statement issued by the Project Director of Padman Multipurpose Bridge Project.

After evaluating the PQ applications within a month, the evaluation committee will submit those to the World Bank (WB) for obtaining ‘no objection’, the statement said adding the ‘first stage tender’ will then be invited after the WB clearance.
