Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain Friday said there is no doubt about completion of the construction of long-cherished Padma Multi-purpose Bridge on time as the donors have so far pledged Tk 185 billion (18,500 crore) for it out of the total estimated cost of Tk 210 billion, reports BSS.
And the remaining Tk 25 billion would be borne by the government alone, he said adding that the government is heading towards implementing the Padma Bridge and it was possible due to the spontaneous supports of the donors to Bangladesh responding to the call of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina.

A total of 107 local people received Tk 55.1 million (5.51 crore) as compensation money Friday as their lands and houses were acquired by the government under the project. A total of 1944 plots both residential and commercial will be distributed to the affected families under the resettlement plan.
