ABIF begins eye camp in Munshiganj May 20

Al-Bsshar International Foundation (ABIF) will begin a camp for cataract patients under its Blindness Control Programme Worldwide in Munshiganj on Friday.

The patients’ examination and selection will be completed on May 20 at KK Govt Institution in Kotgaon of Munshiganj town from 7 am to 11 am, a press release said here today.

All the selected patients will be given free treatment of cataract operation with contact lens.

The foundation has also arranged for them free food and lodging. The patients have been requested to bring their bedding, plates and drinking glasses.

Six thousand eye patients will be given primary treatment with free medicine and reading glasses.

Five thousand cataract patients will be operated upon and given contact lenses. Blind patients will be operated upon and given free spectacles and medicine for a month.

Earlier, the ABIF, a Saudi based philanthropic organisation, is working for the blind in 40 countries of the world. So far, the foundation has arranged 48 free eye camps and gave treatment at 50 schools in 25 districts in the country since 1992.
