The Munshiganj Free Day was observed on Sunday with much enthusiasm as the district was freed from the clutches of Pakistani occupation forces on this day in 1971.

More than 1,000 freedom fighters led by Khaled Mosharaf of Sector No. 9, freed the district on this day in 1971 at the fag end of the nine-month-long bloody war against the Pak Army.

Marking the day, Bangladesh Muktijodha Sangsad’s Munshiganj District Unit and Sadar upazila unit command jointly held elaborate programmes. People from all walks of life attended the programmes.

A big procession was brought out from the Mukti Joddah office premises. It ended at the same venue after passing through different thoroughfares of the town.
