Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the loss of lives in the launch capsize in Meghna River in Munshiganj.

In a condolence message, the prime minister ordered the authorities concerned to expedite the rescue operation.

She conveyed her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the salvation of the departed souls.

The Dhaka-bound ‘MV Shariatpur-1’ with over 250 passengers aboard capsized in the Meghna River after a cargo boat hit it near Char Kishori in Gazaria upazila.
