A child was killed when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw ran over him near Krishi Bank of Munshiganj town on Thursday evening. The deceased was identified as Ahad, 8, son of Anwar Hossain, of Bhattacharyabagh village under Sadar upazila of the district.

Sub-Inspector of Sadar Thana Moniruzzaman told banglanews that a CNG-run auto-rickshaw rammed him in the area around 7:00pm while he was crossing the road along with his family members, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

Police held the auto-rickshaw driver, he added.
