Meanwhile, the pro-blockade activists also set ablaze to two launches and a bus and also vandalised another water vessel in the district, a couple of hours before the opposition-enforced 72-hour blockade began at 6:00am today.

Helper Alamgir was sleeping inside the bus parked on the Mawa launch terminal parking yard when the pro-blockade activists torched the bus of Great Bikrampur Paribahan, said Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Louhajang Police Station.

The helper suffered serious burn injuries before locals doused the fire.

Locals also put out the blaze that the blockaders set to two launches — MV Rajib-2 and MV Masum–said OC Abul Kalam.

Pro-blockade activists also vandalised MV Sajal-1.

The lunches were anchored at Mawa terminal.

The blockaders torched a bus of Gangchil Paribahan parked at the terminal around 3:15am, the police official said.

On information, fire fighters from Sreenagar fire station rushed to the spot and doused the flame, he added.
