2 housewives, schoolgirl found hanged in Munshiganj

Two housewives and a schoolgirl were found hanged in three separate incidents in Louhajang, Sreenagar and Sadar upazilas of Munshiganj district on Thursday. Police recovered the hanging body of Lata Begum, 23, a housewife, from Jiyostala village in Sadar upazila in the afternoon. She was the wife of Saudi Arabia expatriate Al Amin of Chhoto Keurar village.

Mohammad Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said police recovered her hanging body and sent it to a local hospital for autopsy. In Sreenagar upazila, Soma Akter, 15, a class X student of AKSK High School and daughter of Abul Bashar of South Ompara village in the upazila, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of an abandoned house at noon.

In Louhajang, police recovered the hanging body of Sanjida Akter, 18, a housewife, from a house at Kandipara village in the afternoon. Khalid Hassan, sub-inspector of Mawa police camp, said Sanjida might have committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house over a family feud, according to UNB.
