The Bangladesh Garment Manufactures’ and Exporters’ Association (BGMEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese company in Beijing for the development of the clothing industry in Bangladesh.

BGMEA President Atikul Islam and Orion Holding Company’s Executive Officer Tang Xiaoji signed the memo for building a garment village at Gazaria in Munshiganj on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is now in China was present during the ceremony.

On Monday, the two countries inked an agreement to construct a special economic zone for China in Bangladesh.
