Road accident creates tailback on Dhaka-Ctg highway

long-queue-waitA 12- kilometre long tailback caused by a road accident on both sides of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Gozaria upazila on Saturday.

Vehicles got stuck on the highway as a good-laden covered van collided head-on with a good-laden truck near Tetoitala village on the Meghna bridge around 11am, leaving four people injured.

The injured were admitted to Bhaberchar Upazila Health Complex.

Bhaberchar Police Outpost in-charge Saiful Islam said, the accident caused a eight-kilometre gridlock from Tetoitala village to Bhaterchar which increased later four kilometers more.

Police removed the accident-ridden vehicles from the spot after few hours and then the traffic started returning to normal.
