He said: “After getting bad smell from the house, locals informed the police in the morning. Being informed, we rushed in and recovered the tied up bodies of a couple and their children from the fourth floor of a building at around 11:30am on Wednesday. The couples are aged between 28 to 35 years while the children are seven and two years old.”

“We are suspecting that they might have been strangled to death some 48-hours ago. Ropes were wrapped around their necks.”

Quoting the locals, he said: “Rashid, a vegetable trader from Bikrampur, had rented the house two months ago. Seven people used to stay in the house and their movement was suspicious.”
