A madrasa student was killed in a road accident at Tenguriapara area under Sirajdikhan Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Md Kuddus, 9, son of a rickshaw-puller Tamijuddin of the said area and a class two student of Tenguriapara Nesarabad Madrasa.

On Thursday afternoon, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw dashed Kuddus at the said area, leaving him dead on the spot and fled away.

Hearing the news, agitated people blocked Sirajdikhan-Tongibari road for two hours. Later, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
